Since comments have been disabled on newer posts, I'll make my request here: I'd love it if you folks could post a summary of last week's meeting here on the blog. I got a report from my husband who attended, but I'd like to hear some other perspectives.
Here's an idea that I had a while back when the MidCounty Memo was trying to promote their website. I suggested some kinds of bulletin boards where people in the neighborhood could post any number of announcements: babysitting teens, pet sitting, music lessons, tutoring, etc. Also just a place for people to connect: walking partners, knitters, homeschooling families, mamas with new babies, quilters, what have you. I think something like this, if promoted, would be a great way to bring neighbors closer.
This project is being conducted through a partnership between the Parkrose Vision Committee, PlanPDX, and the City of Portland Bureau of Planning.
Parkrose Vision Committee -a volunteer organization representing the interests of both the Parkrose Neighborhood Association and the Parkrose Business Association.
PlanPDX- project team compromised of six members of Portland State’s Masters in Urban & Regional Planning (MURP) program.
Barry Manning from the City of Portland, Bureau of Planning will act as a technical advisor.
